CEWOOD, a leading producer of wood wool panels, has achieved a significant milestone with the opening of a new production line in their brand-new factory in Alūksne, Latvia. This state-of-the-art facility, with a total investment of €25 million, sets a new standard in production capacity, sustainability, and innovation within the construction sector.
The new production line will triple CEWOOD’s production capacity from 1.7 million m² to 4.7 million m² of wood wool panels per year. These panels, made from 100% natural materials such as wood, cement, and water, are used worldwide for ceilings, walls, and acoustic applications.
The new factory, located in the village of Jaunlaicene, exemplifies sustainability and local entrepreneurship. Designed with respect for the surrounding nature, the building was constructed without cutting down trees and was adapted to blend seamlessly into the landscape. This impressive design even won the prestigious “Latvian Construction Award” in the “Industrial Facility” category.
A standout feature of the building is its round window with a diameter of 3.2 meters, the largest monolithic round window in Europe.
